"Was happy with this agent until a "hospital policy" was pushed onto/sold to me. It was an additional $25 per month and 3 months into it, I was injured, hospitalized , even had surgery for said injury. The hospital policy did not cover it, citing the "fine print." blah blah blah.I was basically scammed into spending a notable amount of extra money. I called the actual agent office multiple times to explain how unfair this is, not one person there cared, at all. No explanation, apology , nothing. Only words I got on the topic was when I initially called to cancel the hospital policy after the hospital claim dept denied my claim twice , a male agent who answered told me he himself had a bad experience with this same hospital policy and he also cancelled his. And this is an actual employee at Kristin Dowdy saying this !! Wow. Wish I had known this was a bogus policy from the beginning, designed to steal from the customers. Now I'm out my $75 total I spent over the course of 3 months. I switched to Geico for same exact monthly rate and coverage as State Farm /Kristin Dowdy."

The person who answered my call quickly got me entered into their system and then I was transferred to Mary to assist with my quote request. Mary was a delight and provided the best customer service. She took the time to discuss my current policies and prospective policies over the phone for both home and auto. She was very informative and knowledgeable. I liked that she was not pushy in trying to hurry and sell the policies. "I have been doing business since April 2016, with Kristin Dowdy, agent of State Farm. She made me feel welcomed from day one. There is an anecdote that is being told among residents in our relatively small town of Shallotte. I am not sure if Kristin is aware of it. Around March of 2016, I was at a local Fire Station when I heard one of the firefighters making fun of a co-worker, because he went to State Farm only to get his car insured and he came out of there with Car, Home & Life insurance, supposedly because Kristin Dowdy's beauty hypnotized him. LOL. Well, fast forward a couple of weeks and this time; I went in there and coincidentally or not, I got Car, Home and Life insurance too. (Not necessarily all at once that day). Grin! Any time I had to go to her office for any diligence related to our insurance account (of course); My wife jokingly said, "Are you going to see your girlfriend?" in reference to Kristin. LOL So, you have been warned. If/when you go there, please say hi to "my girlfriend"; yeah right!! Last, but not least; In all seriousness, I want to highlight that her staff is friendly and professional. They will make you feel comfortable while being able to help you with your needs for car, home and life insurance. I am not sure if they have pet insurance. But I will find out and if they do, I will add our lovely cat Coco."
